How Analytics Integration Works

How to integrate with 3rd Party Analytics Tools, beyond Google Analytics

Introduction

This guide will explain how our analytics integration functions and how you can set it up for services other than Google Analytics.

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Access Account Preferences

  • Navigate to your account's Account Preferences.
  • Scroll down to the section titled Analytics Integration.

Understanding the Integration

  • Any link added to our software will have specific parameters appended to its end.
  • These parameters are added before the link is shortened and shared.
  • The appended parameters don't alter the destination of the link but inform your analytics software (like Google Analytics) about the source of the traffic.

Step 2: Modify UTM Codes

  • By default, UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) is set up for Google Analytics.
  • If you use a different analytics provider (e.g., KISSmetrics), you need to customize these parameters accordingly.

Customizing Parameters

  • For providers requiring specific parameters (e.g., ‘source'), adjust the parameter name in our software.
  • Our software will automatically handle the inclusion of symbols like ‘?' or ‘&'.

Step 3: Adding Custom Values

  • Click on Add Custom Value to input dynamic parameters.
  • There are three types of dynamic parameters you can add:
    • Source: Indicates the origin of the traffic within our software (e.g., video contest, social post, share button).
    • Name: Provides detailed information about the campaign (e.g., ‘Cutest Baby Contest').
    • Network: Specifies the social network source (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

Unique Feature of Our Software

  • When publishing to multiple networks, our software creates separate shortened links for each post.
  • This allows for precise tracking of the source network for each click, even through resharing outside the original network.

Final Setup

  • Once set up, these parameters are automatically generated for each publication.
  • This integration saves time and enhances your ability to track and evaluate your marketing efforts.

Conclusion

Our analytics integration is designed to seamlessly work with various analytics tools, providing detailed insights into your campaigns' performance. The unique feature of generating multiple short links for a single post across different networks sets our software apart, offering superior tracking capabilities.

This guide outlines the setup and advantages of the analytics integration feature, ensuring users can easily integrate and benefit from detailed analytics in their campaigns.
